Takada Castle originally built in 1614 by Matsudaira Tadateru, the sixth son of “The Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu.” Takada Castle is one of the greatest cherry blossom viewing designations in Japan for night viewing; with over 4000 cherry blossom trees. Several thousand paper lanterns are on illuminating the castle grounds and pathways, a wonderful evenings stroll, in search for the perfect cherry blossom.
