The Oriental Stork Was Extinct

Monday, October 24, 2016 | By: Blain Harasymiw Photography

The Oriental Stork was extinct in the wild of Japan,  then in May 2007 hatching occurred in Japan, the last time was 40 years before.  Today I was supposed to photograph swans that flew in for the winter, but this special guest caught us by surprise. A very pleasant surprise, as with the ‘Red Crowed Cranes’, they were on the verge of extinction, now they are thriving in Hokkaido.  Now on the trail of the ‘Crested Ibis’, in the next couple of years, we will have an internal tour, for ‘The Crested Ibis.  Tomorrow will be back on the trail with the Oriental Stork.
