Every chance I get with The whooper swan I count as lucky especially photographing them in flight. Photographing Birds in flight can be challenging requiring a high ISO and shutter speed. For this composition, I used my 400mm 2.8 I did not want a tack sharp image and the whooper swans head neck and body during flight is mostly still, giving the opportunity to express motion in the image. My Camera settings ISO 2500; f/18; 1/320 sec; These magnificent migrating birds, stay with us in Japan until March, then they fly back to Siberia to their summer home. I took this image of the whooper swans in flight while leading a photo tour group in Hokkaido, Japan. We now have limited spaces available for our 2018 Hokkaido winter - Japan wildlife tour.
