Hepatica Nobilis var. Japonica, better known as “Yukiwariso” the finest and exquisite first coloring after winters snow in Alpine regions, letting us know that spring has officially arrived. These beautiful vibrant flowers mostly go unnoticed due to their location and size. Every year I have a local alpine workshop in Japan especially for these micro-sized flowers, the attendees are joyful with an abundance smiles with the patience of Zen Monks. Our lodgings are at Obuse Onsen Village, better known for "Snow Monkeys." Our days are spent exploring the Alpine regions while often shadowed by snow monkeys, that will swing right by you. Next time you hear someone says "anyone can photograph flowers" just remember the Hepatica Nobilis var. Japonica “Yukiwariso” flower with Monkeys, the ultimate flowering adventure. Japan is heaven for anyone who loves plants, with deeply rooted ancient methods of gardening.
