Attending a performance of beautiful dance will give you a taste of the spirituality of the people of Japan. These epic performances are famously legendary, such as the Tale of the Sun Goddess Amaterasu which has been performed since 712 A.D. Traditional Japanese dance styles Kabuki, Noh Mai, Bon Odori, Nihon Buyu, with no shortages of venues or dance troupes. In recent years we have seen a rise of theatrical troupes blending the ancient styles with modern, evolving a uniquely beautifully new style of dance. I photographed these performing artists, while on an exclusive private Japan Photo Tour on the weekend; my clients/friends were astonished by the skill and the traditional apparel of these Japanese performers. They have booked us privately again for next summer exclusively to explore our local countryside festivals by The Sea of Japan, off the beaten tourist track!
