Zoom Burst Zoom Effect

A zoom burst, or zoom blur, is fun and simple to accomplish, adding motion and an abstract feeling to your photography. It is straightforward and fun to achieve, involving zooming in or out while you take a photo, causing the image to blur from the center outwards, with the sense the scene is coming towards you. All you need is your DSLR with a zoom lens; a tripod is optional. This shot I took at “CP+ & Photo Imaging Show 2017 Feb. 23-26, 2017 Pacifico Yokohama. My settings were 1/6sec; f/14 ISO100; with a 24-105mm an effective focal length lens, I probably would never have bought one if it were not for Jim Zuckerman who recommends the lens to me, now my 24-70mm is used for fashion and product photography.
