The annual Kawazuzakura Cherry Blossom Festival 2017 is starting to get under way. These Sakura are similar Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura, and Kanazakura trees the flowers are a beautiful dark pink with a lovely fresh fragrance, they attacked the Japnese white-eye bird, that feast on the nectar. They are one of our best-kept secrets, but the world is starting to catch on, next year I will be leading an international birding photo tour Japan to Kawazuzakura Festival 2018 and the elusive Japanese white eye.
