Happy Holidays: Japan is a nation of Islands, Onsens, and culture; Japan is over 3000km, with 6,852 islands. Usually, this time off, I would be in Hokkaido leading private Hokkaido photo tours. But for the coming weeks, I will be exploring the southern Island chain of Japan with my family. We will be island hopping by ferry. We have over a dozen islands to explore on this adventure. The weather is looking good daytime temps around 18℃; nighttime temperatures will drop to around 8℃, and the Japanese maple trees on some islands are just starting to turn red, orange, and yellow. And we will be camping off the beaten path, and each of our campsites has hot springs close by, some right next to our camp so that we can enjoy onsen anytime, and I love healing Shirin-Yoku/forest bathing.

Wishing my international family, friends, and clients could join us with open borders, Social distancing stinks/c/19, I sure am looking forward to leading group photography adventures again, hopefully in early 2022, but we must "make due" with what we have in front of us now, and what I have is several weeks of Southern Pacific Island jumping, with continued social distancing keeping myself and family healthy. And I wish you, your family and friends, a happy and safe holiday season, and I am looking forward to seeing or hearing from you soon or seeing you in 2022.

A favorite Ocean side spot in Japan.

A power vortex spot, I have photographed thousands of dragons, and this one I visit several times a year, and is included on my Hokkaido Photo tour, my Autumn photo tour, and my Spring Cherry blossom photo tour itinerary.

Some morning are more spectacular than others, but I do enjoy birding, and crows are highly intelligent and enjoy the some of the best views on our planet.

Mt. Fuji is always beautiful, I will visit again sometime in late January and in February.
