Day 1, Saturday, June 3 Arrival and pick up Hashimoto Keio Train Station ☛ 07:11 - 07:41 We will meet you at Hashimoto Station exit, then proceed 500 meters to Toyota Vehicle Rental, which opens at 08:00, We depart for Odawara and the Hakone region just over an hours drive. Our highlights include Odawara Castle 35.251286, 139.154063, Hatajuku Ashigarashimo District 35.204225, 139.059663 at various locations seeking the natural and cultural, photogenic historical places. Take a short stroll on the preserved “Old Tokaido Walking Trail,” hoping for fog, misty weather conditions which will add a beautiful moody, atmospheric feel of the trees and subject on the trail. Motohakone Stone Buddhas date back to the Kamakura period; there are over twenty stone sculptures near the Shojin pond 35.214458, 139.035315. Chisuji Falls (千条の滝) Falls 35.235354, 139.051130 known as a place of Zen. Manami has arranged our lodgings at (The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko Hotel 35.213716, 139.007830) after our day of photography you may enjoy its healing hot springs and hospitality.
Day 2, Sunday, June 4 After viewing sunrise at Hakone and after breakfast, we depart for the Mt. Fuji region. If the weather is holding we will drive up the (Fuji Azami Line Fifth Station) 35.366303, 138.778642 most find this to be an awakening spiritual experience, with a spectacular view. The Fuji Five Lakes (富士五湖) are at the base of Mt. Fuji roughly 1000 meters above sea level, we will explore and capture the most photogenic scenes around the five lakes Yamanakako, Kawaguchiko, Saiko, Shojiko, and Motosuko. The majority of people have never visited all five lakes, as visual artists and explorers its a must. Manami has booked us into (The Mount Hotel 35.491974, 138.603651) it’s a little spartan, but it has one of the best views of Mt. Fuji from the shores of Shojiko, and it’s a favorite place where Japanese photographers overnight.
Day 3, Monday, June 5 We wake well before sunrise “LOOK UP” star trails and Mt. Fuji, then golden hour and Fuji San!
After this humbling experience we drive back to our lodgings for breakfast, check out then back to exploring. The Shiraito Falls (白糸の滝) are among the most beautiful in Japan, they are over 150 meters wide and 21 meters high, fed by Mt. Fuji’s natural spring water. There are wasabi farms/ponds in the area, in which spring water is essential for growing wasabi and visually pleasing, we will take advantage of these beautiful setting until afternoon. We then will leisurely make our way back to Hashimoto Station and drop off between 19:00-20:00.
